Project Manager - Mechanical
Location: Portsmouth
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a well-established and highly respected contractor operating exclusively within the UK water industry.

Role overview:
As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the lifecycle delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing professional project management standards while building strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities:
·Identify and develop new project opportunities through strong client relationships
·Prepare and draft customer proposals based on optimal technical solutions
·Manage projects end-to-end with full responsibility for P&L performance
·Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and report on programme and financial variances
·Define and control project scope using established company processes and procedures
·Maintain the highest standards of health and safety through supervision and site inspections
·Produce risk assessments and carry out regular site inspections
·Obtain relevant permits, including TWOSA and TCOP where required
·Act as the main point of contact for engineers and technicians regarding contractual and technical matters
·Manage supplier deliveries and procurement of materials
·Carry out and record toolbox talks, safety briefings, site inspections, and site diaries
·Investigate accidents and incidents in line with company and client requirements and report findings to senior management
Required experience & qualifications:
·Proven experience in on-site project engineering (water industry experience desirable but not essential)
·Strong ability to define and manage project scope
·Experience in developing project schedules and plans
·Engineering qualifications:
oHND (essential)
oBEng or BSc (preferred)
·PRINCE2 Practitioner
·Strong analytical and commercial skills
·Ability to lead and motivate teams
·Full UK driving licence
·Right to work in the UK on a permanent basis
