This role sits within the Council's change and transformation function and will be responsible for coordinating and delivering strategic solutions that support both the authority and the affected communities.

This position is suited to a senior project manager with deep understanding of complex local government environments, especially within housing, homelessness, gypsy & traveller engagement, or related public service areas. This is a hands-on role that requires significant flexibility and presence on the ground.

The Role
·Lead a strategic project aimed at resolving a complex and sensitive city-wide issue relating to vehicle dwellers
·Coordinate cross-departmental planning and service delivery to ensure a sustainable and lawful solution
·Engage with internal teams, elected members, local communities, legal services, housing, and enforcement functions
·Develop and manage an end-to-end project plan with clear milestones, risk management, and progress reporting
·Act as a key link between corporate decision-makers, external stakeholders, and the community
·Oversee project governance, change control, communication, and benefit realisation planning
·Respond quickly to emerging issues, political direction, and stakeholder concerns
·Contribute to the Council's wider transformation agenda through professional project delivery

Key Requirements
·Significant project management experience in local government or similar public sector settings
·Subject matter understanding of homelessness, housing needs, gypsy & traveller issues, or community engagement
·Proven ability to deliver under pressure and navigate political environments
·Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially when managing conflict and competing priorities
·Experience leading high-profile, politically sensitive projects from planning to implementation
·Confident communicator able to coordinate across complex organisational structures
·Flexible and available to work on-site in Bristol 2-4 days per week depending on need
