Are you a Project Engineer with experience working in the water sector?

My client is a Tier 1 contractor on the United Utilities Framework, looking to add a Project Engineer to their team to help deliver maintenance works attached to clean and wastewater sites.

The role is suitable for candidates from any engineering background, as long as you have worked on projects attached to a UK water authority (e.g. United Utilities).

The role offers hybrid working, allowing the successful Project Engineer to work from home most days. You will be required to attend sites spanning both North and South areas of the United Utilities framework where suitable.

As a Project Engineer, you will be working closely alongside the Project Manager, Operations Managers and Design Managers to ensure efficient use of resources, framework efficiencies and client satisfaction. Candidates should have strong contract awareness and be closely familiar with NEC3 principles.

Individual project values will typically range between £10k-£1m, with the successful Project Engineer being likely to deliver between 10-20 concurrent projects depending on size and complexity.

Responsibilities include:
·Provide whole life oversight and accountability for the successful completion of maintenance projects through design, procurement, assembly, commissioning and handover.
·Management of a portfolio of maintenance projects at various stages of development.
·Provide leadership to create a safety culture to ensure no LTI or RIDDOR incidents.

A successful candidate MUST have:
·Water/Wastewater sector experience.
·Knowledge and experience of working with NEC3 contracts.
·Skills, knowledge and experience of CDM regulations from both construction and design perspectives.
·HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
·SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
·CSCS Black/Gold or accredited persons.
·EUSR Water Hygiene card
·Experience in a multi-project delivery role (preferred).

This can be a fast-paced ever-changing environment, so candidates need to be able to adapt to change and prioritise workloads accordingly.
