Job Role - Project Controls Engineer

Location - Epsom/Home

Contract length - 6 Months

Pay Rate - £35 Inside IR35

As part of the Low Carbon team the Project Controls Engineer will be responsible for delivery of planning and cost management in assigned projects / proposals viz., feasibility / concept studies. Pre-FEED, FEED, Post-FEED, PMC and EPCm projects.
This role requires primarily a cost controller who is equally adept as a Prima-Vera P6 planner to work independently on the projects & proposals.

Key Duties:

  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels of the organisation, to define and achieve mutual understanding of the scope of work and create WBS / CBS.
  • Produce and maintain plans and programme schedules for the execution of the projects for project life cycle
  • Producing, analysing, and advising PCM on Project Performance (both schedule and cost) data, and determining root causes and impacts
  • Set up the project in respective systems (P6 for schedule and Oracle for CBS and cost loading)
  • Supporting PCM in preparing progress / project performance report for client(s)
  • Working experience in Earn Value Management / Reporting
  • Management of Change control process and claims to client
  • Client Invoicing


What you should bring to the job:

  • Significant experience as a Planner and Cost Controller in an engineering and construction environment within the oil / gas / process industries.
  • Preferably Degree level qualification.
  • Knowledge of the principles of planning and cost management.
  • Ability to accurately interpret study, engineering, and construction contractual documents and contract modifications.
  • Good communication skills (Oral and Written) and presentation skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with wide variety of stakeholders (including client, as it is client facing role) with diverse backgrounds  
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Able to efficiently and effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities.
  • Pro-active team player with an ability to develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders working in the project
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, Primavera (P6) and cost management tools, Oracle & JDE
  • Experience in Earned Value Management.
