Exciting Opportunity for a Highway Electrical Manager in South Yorkshire
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Electrical Manager to join a leading authority in South Yorkshire on a full-time basis. This key role will lead the management of highway electrical equipment, overseeing the replacement, testing, and compliance across the region.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and play a crucial part in improving street lighting policy, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to legislative standards.
The main duties of the Highway Electrical Manager include:
·Acting as the point of contact for all highway electrical matters, ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and council procedures for the maintenance and replacement of electrical assets.
·Overseeing the completion and maintenance of electrical records for all plant and equipment, ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations.
·Managing the unmetered energy extract and rectifying any errors or discrepancies in inventory.
·Developing and managing cyclic maintenance regimes to ensure compliance with electrical testing and structural condition surveys.
·Recording all completed work in the asset database, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
·Managing budgets for Electrical Testing, Condition Surveys, and High Mast Lighting, ensuring best value is delivered.
·Handling accident damage claims and insurance claims, ensuring recovery targets are met.
·Providing technical advice to council departments on energy-efficient lighting and traffic schemes.
·Representing and deputising for the CMS manager in meetings and events as required.
The Highway Electrical Manager will have key experience in:
·Street lighting management, electrical supervision, and team leadership.
·Strong technical skills and knowledge of electrical systems, with experience in the public or private sector.
·Proven track record of managing budgets and delivering value for money.
·Familiarity with systems such as Sinology or I-Aura is a plus.
·Ability to manage statutory obligations and implement changes within a department.
