Job description

This is an outstanding opportunity for a Programme Manager to join a leading consultancy in Nottinghamshire. The role of the Programme Manager is to lead the programme management of a portfolio of Highway improvement and maintenance projects to ensure work is undertaken safely, on time and on budget.
 
Main Accountabilities:
·Lead and coordinate the creation of a balanced scheme delivery programme, including estimates of work costs and delivery dates agreed with Project Managers to enable effective reporting to Councillors and members of the public.
·Plan resource capacity, commitment, and forward workflow, working collaboratively across the company to maximise productivity and achievement of customer excellence.
·Drive the delivery of a variety of Highway improvement and maintenance programmes to provide up to date financial and resource utilisation positions to facilitate effective Client and Senior Leadership reports, in turn enabling robust business decision making.
·Lead monthly forecasting with Project Managers and Finance representatives to identify any programme changes and report these and emerging risks to the Senior Leadership Team.
·Provide guidance, support, and specialist advice to colleagues across the business to ensure that the organisation understands and delivers the works programmes and meets the contractual obligations to the client.
·Deputise for the Head of Programme Management as required and assist in the development of the Programme Assistant.
 
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
·Experience in managing programmes and/or projects and excellent project management skills. Ideally, experience working in either an operational construction or a design environment.
·Excellent stakeholder and matrix management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels across an organisation.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·Strong analytical and numerical skills including extensive experience of working with spreadsheets evidencing the ability to analyse detail and identify a pragmatic solution to issues.
·The ability to respond in both a proactive and reactive manner depending on the situation as an effective decision maker.
