What you'll be doing
In this Principal Transport Planner role, you will:
·Prepare high-quality Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans and Site Access Appraisals using MS Word and Excel.
·Coordinate and deliver Travel Plan initiatives.
·Undertake junction capacity modelling (ARCADY / PICADY) and traffic signal design (LinSig).
·Lead on the preliminary design of access, junction improvements and highway schemes using AutoCAD.
·Carry out swept-path analysis (AutoTrack) and produce professional-level graphics using GIS or CorelDraw.
·Manage client communication, project delivery, and contribute to fee proposals and framework bids.
·Bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset to ensure deadlines and client expectations are consistently met.
What you'll bring
To succeed as a Principal Transport Planner, you'll need:
·A degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Geography or Transport Planning.
·Experience in development-focused transport planning.
·A strong understanding of local and national transport policy and guidance.
·Membership or progression towards CIHT or ICE.
·Excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills, with the drive to deliver high-quality results.
