Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Traffic Signals Engineer to come and join a busy client in the Liverpool area on a contract basis.

The client manages and maintains over 400 sets of traffic signals using Yunex UTC UX system, 60 VMS/CPG systems via Stratos, traffic signals queries and HVM bollards.

UTC UX skills required include UTC plan changes, SCOOT validation and fault management on both the UTC system and InView fault management system.

The UTC control centre is open from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday so the Principal Engineer will be required to work the early or late shifts on a rota basis.

The main duties of the Principal Traffic Signals Engineer are:

  • InView/UTC UX - Pass traffic signal faults and manage the repairs/temp clears on FMS/interrogate controllers and UTC system for errors
  • Bag and Switch Offs (BASO) management and invoicing
  • Stratos - Strategy manager updates for LFC and EFC to ensure the signal timings change on match days  UTC UX - Network monitoring and action UTC plan changes/SCOOT changes and hurry calls for incidents  Manage bollard maintenance/strikes and bollard issues
  • SCOOT - validate/fine tune SCOOT networks
  • Complaints/iCase - liaise with complainants and resolve traffic signal issues letters of response
  • Cover shifts and pass faults on InView, answer phone and resolve issues
  • Green claims - Luke to work through these in the short term but it needs handing to someone
