Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Yorkshire in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 4 month contract (Extensions likely).

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional who can demonstrate the qualities to hit the ground running a successfully deal with an interesting and varied caseload of planning applications, with the main focus being on Major Applications (10-20 Houses) and complex minors.
 
To apply for this role, it is essential that you have worked as a development management case officer (Ideally 5-10 years experience) in a local authority planning department or at an equivalent level in a private practice. The successful candidate must demonstrate good technical knowledge and understanding of relevant planning legislation and national guidance. Experience of working in a rural area would also be desirable and being MRTPI will be looked upon favourably though is not necessary. It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline.
 

Carrington West Pay Rate - £45 to £50per/hour (DOE)
