Job description
Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Hertfordshire in the search for Principal Planner to focus on Strategic Sites. The role will be offered on an initial 6-month basis; a hybrid working arrangement is offered with a weekly presence in the office/on site each week.
All successful candidates will be expected to have sufficient experience supporting a local authority planning department. Candidates must have experience of managing strategic sites, either in terms of planning applications for large scale strategic sites or in progressing such sites through local plans. You will be expected to take a lead in contributing to the delivery of an efficient and effective planning strategy service, including engagement with developers and other key bodies in the delivery of quality developments, strategic sites and a robust planning policy framework.
The contract offered is on an initial 6-month duration with the potential to extend, the council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running - Further details on the role available upon request.
A comprehensive working knowledge and experience of Development Management is essential. It would be beneficial to hold a Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute, although this is not mandatory.
Carrington West Pay Rate - Up to £50 to £55per/hour
