My client has an opportunity for a highly competent and experienced Principal / Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer.
 
Company Overview:
 
They have offices in Nottingham and Birmingham focusing on client's requirements and Value Engineering. This position has become available following recently securing numerous key contracts.
 
They are looking for a motivated, highly skilled and solution focused person to join and contribute to theirexpanding team. This role would be based in either the Nottingham Office or Birmingham office, supporting projects throughout the UK.
 
Key Responsibilities
Highly competent, leading on technical elements to a high standard, within time and budget expectations across multiple sectors.
Leading Geo-environmental ground investigation, pricing, scope and design.
Managing and leading delivery of Geo-environmental interpretative Phase 1 and 2 reports, along with factual reports, ensuring high quality data assessment, qualitative risk assessment and conceptual site model development
Competent in developing Remediation Options Appraisals, Remediation Strategies and Remediation Verification Report preparation, inclusive of defendable data assessment
Ensuring all deliverables are in line with procedures and processes and to the highest quality and safety, health and environmental standards
Identifying and securing new work opportunities
 
Skills & Qualifications
Experience of brownfield sites, remediation and geotechnical engineering.
Relevant technical degree e.g. geology, engineering, chemistry or environmental science
Chartership with a relevant institution is highly desirable.
Able to participate with and manage cross-discipline teams.
Excellent written and aural communication skills.
Leadership of fieldwork and office teams.
Flexibility to work across the UK
A full UK driving licence is required
 
Experience
Detailed understanding of the contaminated land regime within the UK with regard to current and future use of a site, development planning, environmental permitting and due diligence.
Highly experienced in leading and guiding preparation and checking of Geo-environmental Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, inclusive of risk-based approach to the assessment of land contamination.
Report writing including presenting complex technical information in a concise and accurate manner.
Highly competent in planning, designing and managing Geo-environmental ground investigations.
Highly Competent in made ground and superficial deposits field logging and logging review.
Leading, planning and designing ground investigations, including the preparation of fees and budgets.
Working knowledge of the CDM Regulations and their application to safe design and implementation of ground investigations.
New work identification and winning.
Leadership of project deliverables across multi-disciplinary project teams.
