Principal Flood Modeller

My client is a well-established, forward-thinking engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. They are recognised for delivering innovative flood risk and drainage solutions across residential, commercial and infrastructure developments. With a growing pipeline of surface water projects, they are now looking to appoint a Principal Flood Modeller to strengthen their Reading-based team.
As a Principal Flood Modeller, you will be:
·Leading and delivering surface water flood modelling projects from inception through to completion
·Developing and reviewing 1D/2D hydraulic models using TUFLOW and Flood Modeller
·Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and modellers
·Liaising with Local Authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other key stakeholders
·Reviewing model outputs, reports and technical documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables
This Principal Flood Modeller role will see you operating at a senior technical level while also contributing to project leadership.
To be considered for this Principal Flood Modeller position, you will ideally have:
·Proven experience in surface water flood modelling
·Strong working knowledge of TUFLOW and Flood Modeller
·An understanding of UK flood risk policy and guidance
·Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
·A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
Chartered or working towards Chartered status would be advantageous but is not essential.
