Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the South West of England in their search for an experienced Planning Consultant (Major Projects) to join their Development Management team. This will be offered on an initial 6 month contract, then rolling.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Interviews for this post will be carried out virtually, and the successful applicant will be required to work flexibly from home, being provided with a virtual induction until further notice.
 
We are looking for an experienced qualified Town Planner capable of dealing with Major Projects. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). Upon appointment, you will help to manage the construction of NSIPs in the area, involving extensive partnership working dealing with a diverse and complex caseload that includes planning requirements and obligations, monitoring and responding to impacts, ensuring compliance, as well as processing and managing Town and Country Planning Act 1990 planning applications from the project and wider supply chain.
 
It would be beneficial although not mandatory to hold a RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification; and also hold a licentiate membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (or equivalent)
