Job description
Job Title: Permitting Officer
Location: North London
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 per annum plus benefits
On behalf of my client, a well-established civils contractor working within the highways sector, I am looking for a Permitting Officer to join their team in North London. The opportunity would suit someone with a background in highways permitting and who thrives in fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities:
·Preparing and submitting permit applications to the relevant Highways Authorities
·Keeping permits and notices accurate and up to date
·Monitoring project timelines and submitting extension requests when necessary
·Liaising with Project Managers and Supervisors to coordinate road space bookings
·Managing permitting data via systems such as Excel and Microsoft Teams
·Building strong working relationships with Local Authorities and key stakeholders
·Tracking inspections and resolving any challenges around FPNs and reinstatement data
Requirements:
·Previous experience in a permitting role within the highways or utilities sector
·Solid understanding of the New Roads & Street Works Act, the Traffic Management Act, and the London Permit Scheme
·Strong organisational and administrative abilities
·Confident using permitting and street works systems (experience with Street Manager, Insight, Symology, or Confirm preferred)
·Happy to work in the North London office five days a week
·Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
·A proactive team player with a positive attitude
Package:
·£35,000-£40,000 per annum depending on experience
