Operations Manager (Highways)
Location: Andover
Role Overview-
The Operations Manager will assist the Business Director in overseeing the operational delivery of maintenance, construction, and improvement projects for Highways.
Key Responsibilities-
·Develop and lead a team to ensure the safe delivery of highway services and construction projects.
·Maintain day-to-day contact with client teams to develop services and ensure contract performance requirements are met.
·Oversee the commercial performance of the programme, maximizing returns for Milestone.
·Hold P&L responsibility, accurately forecasting programme and financial outcomes.
·Develop and implement a procurement strategy for safe and timely project delivery.
·Commit to Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies, minimizing the carbon output of projects.
 
Requirements-
·Proven track record in leading highway-related services and construction projects.
·Technical knowledge of NEC contracts.
·Certifications such as SMSTS, IOSHH, or similar.
·Familiarity with safety, company procedures, legislation, and practice.
·Knowledge of Quality Management (ISO 9001) and Environmental Management.
·Strong commercial knowledge and understanding.
·Competent and recognized leadership skills.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Relevant qualification (Degree/HNC) or equivalent experience.

·Strong people and client management skills with P&L responsibility experience.
·Ability to deliver complex projects through effective teamwork and supplier management.
·Commercial knowledge and negotiation skills with suppliers.
·High level of emotional and social intelligence.
·Innovation in project delivery.
·Demonstrable budget and cost management skills.
·Understanding of financial and contract payment mechanisms.
·Computer literacy with basic MS packages.
·Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
·Flexibility in managing and prioritizing workload.
