Job description

The Role:
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join my clients' vibrant Ground Engineering Department. You will play the lead role in the delivery of a wide range of offshore projects, often in collaboration with colleagues in other disciplines based across the group. You will also work with other senior members of the UK Ground Engineering Department to shape the future of the department and in particular the offshore geotechnical capabilities.
 
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Ground Engineering business and play a key role in the development of the offshore design procedures and also playing an active role in task groups/engineering panels.

Responsibilities:
·As a Team Leader you will be expected to take responsibility for the delivery of geotechnical services to other disciplines, particularly the Offshore Design Teams in UK, Hamburg and Denmark.
·Will be able to demonstrate successful engagement with relevant professional institutions and/or client bodies. You will be expected to play an active part with the Department management in the day to day execution of company systems to deliver projects effectively.
·You will assist in providing guidance to less experienced staff to help deliver projects and will be able to deal with internal and external clients.
·Be ambassadors for Company.

Essential Skills and Experience:
·High level of offshore Geotechnical design skill
·Experience and understanding of project/task resourcing and financial control
·Strong track record in geotechnics
·Experience of the management of design teams and small resource groups
·Strong communication skills when dealing with clients, team members and senior members dealing with multi-disciplined projects.
 
Desirable Skills and Experience:
·Past experience of UK Ground Engineering design including offshore Geotechnics
·Infrastructure Geotechnics
·3D Finite Element modelling
·Experience of soil dynamics and earthquake engineering
 
Education & Professional Qualifications:
·A relevant BEng/MEng degree
·Qualified as a Chartered Engineer

·Must be able to demonstrate the lateral thinking approach and Can do attitude
·Proven ability to deliver results within challenging deadlines
