Job description

Job Role - Nuclear Consulting Engineer
 
Location - Winfrith
 
Contract Length - 12 Month (Extensive Opportunity for Extension a this phase is a 1-2 year project)
 
Pay rate - £33.23hr PAYE/£44.65hr Umbrella

Key Project Deliverables
·Act as the main engineering lead for large decommissioning projects to deliver engineering work to meet project objectives and to do so within project time scales and budgets.
·Being there to support and develop the relevant technical strategies, approaches and methodologies to deliver decommissioning projects (will include providing senior mechanical engineering support)
·Be the point of contact and technical lead in managing and overseeing specific areas such as design, manufacture, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning of plant and equipment in support of the decommissioning.
·Along side the above act as the commissioning lead that can manage and coordinate all testing, setting to work, and commissioning works in support decommissioning.
Required Skills and Qualifications
·Mechanical Engineer Qualified (BSc / Beng)
·Experience in decommissioning and commissioning
·Knowledge and experience of steam powered plant/boiler refurbishment
·Prior exposure to robotics and remote-controlled plant is advantageous
·Project management/people management or consulting experience required
·Chartered status Desirable
·Proven experience in a senior PE/PM Capacity
·Project management qualification
·Experience in a practicing senior mechanical engineering role on nuclear AND/OR conventional plant in a highly regulated environment.
·Detailed understanding of the national engineering standards; technical, health, safety and environmental legislation; Nuclear Site
