Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Neighbourhood Housing & Tenancy Officer to join a busy housing management team. This role combines core patch-based housing duties with tenancy management and some enforcement, playing a key role in delivering a safe, sustainable, and resident-focused housing service.

This is a hybrid role with on-site visits and office attendance required in line with service needs.

The Role
·Deliver a comprehensive housing management service to general needs tenants and leaseholders
·Support residents to sustain tenancies through early intervention, advice and referrals to support services
·Lead on tenancy audits, new tenancy sign-ups, successions, assignments and mutual exchanges
·Investigate and resolve breaches of tenancy, including anti-social behaviour (ASB), subletting, hoarding and unauthorised occupation
·Prepare and issue legal notices where appropriate and represent the organisation in court as required
·Carry out regular estate inspections, identify environmental issues and ensure communal areas are well maintained
·Respond to reports of nuisance and neighbour disputes, working with ASB, legal and enforcement teams where necessary
·Act as the main point of contact for residents within your patch, managing complaints and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
·Maintain accurate casework records using internal systems and ensure all actions are compliant with policy and legislation
·Work collaboratively with internal teams such as repairs, income, allocations and safeguarding to deliver a joined-up, resident-focused service
 
Key Requirements
·Experience in a housing officer, tenancy officer or similar housing management role
·Strong knowledge of tenancy law, ASB procedures and safeguarding responsibilities
·Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently across multiple sites
·Confident in preparing case files, issuing notices, and attending court proceedings
·Excellent communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills
·Strong organisational and IT skills, with experience using housing management systems
