Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor
Location: Aylesford
Rate: £475 per day (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)
Duration: 12 months+

The Company
We are working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 Water/Wastewater contractor, delivering large capital delivery schemes on behalf of Southern Water. With multiple live projects across clean water sites, they are looking to strengthen their delivery team with the appointment of an experienced Mechanical Supervisor.
The Role
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical packages across major water infrastructure projects. You will oversee site activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and programme targets, while supervising both directly employed staff and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
·Supervise and coordinate mechanical works, including pipework fabrication, welding, and inspection.
·Review and interpret P&IDs and GA drawings to support pipeline snagging and resolution of issues.
·Manage and monitor subcontractor performance, ensuring work is delivered to the required standards.
·Oversee the preparation, review, and implementation of RAMS and permits.
·Provide ongoing support to Site and Project Managers, ensuring alignment with project deliverables.
·Maintain quality assurance standards, carrying out inspections and ensuring documentation is completed.
·Drive safe working practices and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
·Assist in progress reporting and support project planning to meet deadlines and milestones.
About You
·Proven experience as a Supervisor within the Water, Wastewater, or Energy sectors, ideally with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors.
·Strong background in mechanical works, particularly pipework systems, welding, and fabrication.
·Ability to read and interpret P&ID and GA drawings.
·Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
·Solid understanding of quality assurance processes, RAMS, and permit-to-work systems.
·Health & Safety qualifications (SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS) are desirable.
