Job Opportunity: Mechanical Fitter (Fabricated Products)
Location: Leicester
Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum
 
About the Role:

My client are looking for skilled Mechanical Fitters to join thier Delivery Team, focusing on the assembly and installation of fabricated products like settlement tank scraper bridges, gravity thickeners, aerators, and access steelwork. This role is site-based and requires regular travel across Severn Trent and Anglian Water regions.
 

The ideal candidate will be flexible, enthusiastic, and organized, with a strong work ethic and relevant experience in the water industry. You should be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a small business environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Perform on-site mechanical installations of scraper bridges and other fabricated products for water and wastewater treatment plants.
·Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, policies, and statutory regulations.
·Install, test, and commission systems to British, ISO, and client standards.
·Carry out repairs, upgrades, and refurbishments on existing systems.
·Apply industry best practices to ensure 'right first time' installations.
·Work with mild and stainless steelwork (cutting, grinding, welding, fixing).
·Handle various types of pipework (stainless, ductile, mild steel).
·Collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and contractors.
·Comply with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Safe Systems of Work Plans.
·Complete daily reports and maintain company HSQE policies in all activities.
·Identify and promote new ideas and improvements to the business.
·Perform other duties as required, consistent with your skills and knowledge.
 
Key Skills & Experience:
 
·At least two years' experience in a similar role within the utilities sector or M&E engineering.
·Experience in steelwork assembly, welding, and site mechanical work.
·Training or qualifications in welding, steel fixing, or similar fields.
·Experience with structural steelwork and steel product installation is advantageous.
·Electrical awareness and training would be beneficial.
·Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
·Experience in the UK water industry is preferred, with specific experience installing scraper bridges being a distinct advantage.
·Willingness to travel regularly across the UK
·Full driving licence (any endorsements must be declared in the application).
