Position: Mechanical Fitter (Fabrication)
Location: Long Eaton   
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + package

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter with a background in heavy steel fabrication?


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable engineering contractor working across major UK water frameworks. With a strong pipeline of projects and continued investment in their delivery teams, they're looking to expand their workforce with skilled and reliable individuals.

The Role:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be part of a site-based installation team responsible for assembling and installing large fabricated products such as scraper bridges, gravity thickeners, aerators, and access steelwork. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic site environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.


Key Responsibilities:
·Installation and commissioning of large fabricated steel structures
·Working with mild and stainless steel, including cutting, grinding, welding, and fixing
·Mechanical pipework installation (stainless, ductile, mild steel)
·Routine repairs, upgrades, and refurbishment of existing systems
·Compliance with all H&S regulations and safe systems of work
·Nationwide travel with regular overnight stays

Requirements:
·Minimum 2 years' experience in a mechanical fitter role (ideally within utilities or M&E sectors)
·Experience in structural steelwork and site mechanical installations
·Welding and steel fixing experience (relevant qualifications preferred)
·Physically fit and comfortable with heavy-duty installation work
·Full UK driving licence
·Willingness to travel and stay away as required

Desirable:
·Previous experience within the UK water industry
·Familiarity with installing scraper bridges or similar assets
·Electrical awareness or multi-skilled background
