Job description

I am working with my busy LPA client, based in Worcestershire, as they look for a highly experienced Policy Consultant to manager their Local Plan Review.
 
The successful candidate will take charge of reviewing of the joint local plan for three authorities, ensuring that deadlines are met, officers have a clear vision and targets, offering advice and guidance, as well as presenting at Steering meetings.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience of working at Head of Service level.
 
Details of the contract include:
 
- £500+ per day Outside IR35
- 9 Month Contract with potential extension
- Remote working
- Part Time, 2-4 days depending on candidate availability

As the Local Plans Review Project Manager, your responsibilities will be:
 
- To prepare and present SWDP Review progress reports to OSG and the Joint Advisory Panel
- To ensure that the policy / work stream leads for each of the SWDP Review policy project groups are fully aware of the various deadlines for completing their work and to work with project leads to ensure that work is completed in accordance with the project plan;
- To liaise, as required, with external organisations/consultants and partners to ensure the delivery of work, evidence and projects critical to the delivery of the SWDP project plan;
- To keep the adequacy resources and capacity required to deliver the project plan(s) under regular review and to advise OSG, Senior Management Teams and Leaders of any need to vary or redeploy resources;
- To liaise with the OSG over SWDP Review expenditure and liaise with finance officers (where necessary) to ensure that each of the South Worcestershire councils is contributing equally to work streams/ projects;
- To participate in Chairman Briefings for the Joint Advisory Panel as required and the compilation of JAP agendas;
- To manage procurement activity to ensure carried out in accordance with procurement rules and time-scales in the plan;
- To ensure Finance team are aware of procurement activity to ensure recharges to partner authorities are made on a timely basis.
