Job description

My client is a design and engineering consultancy specialising in the delivery of intelligent transport systems, traffic signals and road lighting services in both the strategic and urban road sectors.

What is Connected Roads?

They are a technology business committed to the delivery of robust solutions which help operators to deliver better for their Customers. So when they talk about Connected Roads, they are talking about the digital infrastructure and systems that enables the sharing of data between vehicles, roadside devices,  operators and customers. Smart Motorways technology is a well-known example of how this is being rolled out on the strategic road network today but looking to the future, the connected road will embrace increasingly complex solutions to facilitate CAV, CAM etc. They are also thinking about off-site manufacturing that protects construction programmes and restores capacity rapidly.
