Job description

My client is currently seeking an Engineer / Senior Engineer to join their busy Civil Infrastructure team in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative and ambitious group that have recently moved to brand new offices in the heart of the commercial district, close to the railway station. They can offer the flexibility of a balance between home and office working which will help maintain a good work life balance and effective team working.
They are fortunate to work with an excellent range of clients in the East of England and beyond and their client-focused approach has enhanced their reputation as one of the leading development consultancies in the local market. Their multi-disciplinary teams are working on a wide variety of projects in both the private and public sectors and with a strong forward workload, they look forward to a busy period ahead.
They can provide the opportunity to work on the major new settlements in the region, the expansion of enterprise zones, or community-based projects from concept through to commissioning and beyond. From lead consultant for new leisure villages for Center Parcs, to the design of infrastructure for residential development, they create exciting opportunities for the development of staff. They are the leaders in our field for the investment in staff development, apprentice programmes, STEM initiatives, and the progression of future business leaders.
On a day to day basis, you will play an important role within the team. You will support the production of drainage/highway designs and provision for all types and scales of development projects and assist in securing S278/S38 and S104 technical approvals. You will work with Engineer and Technician colleagues in the effective delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines.
You will liaise with the internal and external clients and design teams on projects and be involved in the delivery and management of successful and timely outcomes. Your role will be varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to learn from the wider group and take your career to the next level.
About You
You'll be a BSc/BEng/MEng qualified and Incorporated or Chartered (Or on route to chartership). Ideally, you will have expertise in development, highway and civil infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary projects for the entire lifecycle - from concept, feasibility and planning through to detailed design and delivery. Skills with microdrainage and Civils 3D are advantageous.
Your passion and experience of delivering quality infrastructure design solutions is most crucial to your success in this role. You will be ambitious, forward thinking and have a desire to better your career.
