Associate/Principal Town Planner - Bristol
Full-time, Office-based
Salary: £40,000-£55,000 (DOE)
An established independent town planning consultancy is seeking an experienced Associate/Principal Town Planner to join its growing Bristol office. This role offers the opportunity to take a senior position within a collaborative and well-regarded planning team, working on projects across the UK and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident planning professional looking to step into a leadership-focused role, with responsibility for project delivery, client engagement and mentoring junior colleagues.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
·Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of planning projects from inception through to determination
·Provide clear, strategic planning advice to clients, consultants and key stakeholders
·Prepare and oversee high-quality planning applications, supporting statements and appeal submissions
·Represent clients at meetings with local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams
·Support senior leadership with project delivery, workload management and client account development
·Mentor and support junior team members, promoting best practice and professional development
·Contribute to business development activities and the wider profile of the consultancy
About You
Candidates should have:
·Approximately 10 years' professional planning experience (public or private sector)
·MRTPI qualification (essential)
·Strong experience in development management and planning strategy
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high standards of work
·Strong professional judgement with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
