An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Network Engineer to come and join a busy client in West Yorkshire on a long term contract basis.

The main duties of the experienced Highway Network Engineer are:

• Responsible for ensuring that the highway is maintained in a safe condition making the best use of resources.
• To police the highway using powers available in the Highways Act 1980 and other relevant legislation
• To support the Highways Services Manager and other team members in the successful delivery of the service objectives and team tasks.
• To develop and maintain effective working relationships within Highway Network Management and with staff in other services.
• Lead, manage and develop successful and effective team and partnership working for the delivery of local highway maintenance services at an area and community level
• Manage the highway drainage function including cyclic maintenance, flooding investigations, routine repairs and drainage problem design solutions
