Job description

Carrington West are pleased to offer this outstanding vacancy with a consultancy in Newark, Nottinghamshire who are looking for a Highway Maintenance Engineer. The successful candidate will be joining an expanding team that is dynamically delivering projects for a range of public and private sector clients.
 
About the role:
As a Highway Maintenance Engineer, you'll lead the design, costing and delivery of carriageway and footway resurfacing projects, overseeing the works from inception to completion. You will prepare detailed design drawings to current standards and support the delivery of complex, large-scale projects across the organisation. You'll ensure Health & Safety responsibilities are fulfilled adhering to relevant management systems, processes and requirements and prepare feasibility reports and contribute to future detailed client briefs including fee proposals on potential highway schemes
 
Additionally, you will ensure regular communication and liaison with contractors and clients and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
 
Candidate Requirements:
·Relevant industry qualifications such as (HNC, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng).
·A member of or working towards a professional institution.
·Understanding of appropriate highway design and safety standards (e.g., Local Authority Design Guides, TSRGD, CDM Regulations, DMRB, Manual for Streets)
·Design experience of highway engineering, drainage investigations and local transport schemes
·The ability to deliver highway projects ensuring completion is achieved on time and on budget to the Clients brief.
·Experience in the production of specifications, technical drawings and feasibility reports
·Proficient in the use of industry design software (AutoCAD). Use of additional software packages KeyLines & KeySign is desirable but not essential.
·Full UK driving licence
