Highways Engineer

As the Highways Engineer you will lead and coordinate engineering projects from inception to completion, carrying out engineering duties that can include technical advice, feasibility exercises, surveys, investigations, and reports, including all work associated with the design and construction of projects / tasks.

Job Context:

1. The post holder reports to a Senior Engineer
2. The post holder has no direct line management responsibility but will be expected to lead and coordinate projects as required and on occasion deputise for a Senior Engineer as necessary.
3. The post holder will occasionally be required to work outside 'normal' office hours, and as required by the line manager to 36 hours per week which may include monitoring works and Council and community meetings.
4. The post holder has a responsibility to contribute towards a variety of projects. They will assist in the execution of commissioned work including the preparation of certificates, account payments, final accounts, final costs statements and accounts for services.
Previous experience in Highways is essential for this role.
