Carrington West are pleased to offer a fantastic role with an outstanding company in Nottingham. The role is for a Health & Safe Advisor within an establish SHEQ team. The role will involve working as part of the SHEQ Team to provide advice and support to the business and individuals as necessary on Health and Safety matters to ensure compliance with legislation and aid with the improvement and maintenance of the Integrated Management System elements appertaining to
Health and Safety.
 
What you will do:
 
·Assist with the review and development of health and safety processes and procedures within an integrated management system to maintain ISO 45001 certification.
·Undertake site health and safety inspections and audits, recording findings and advised
corrective actions in prescribed format and track closure to ensure legal and other requirements are maintained.
·Undertake and support managers' undertaking incident investigations; identifying causations and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence, liaising with enforcement authorities as necessary and ensure reports in the prescribed format are generated to maintain a robust incident management system.
·Respond to verbal or written queries from internal and external customers on health and safety matters, to ensure correct advice, solutions or information is provided.
·Assist with the development and delivery of health and safety initiatives to promote and develop a positive culture.
·Keep up to date with legislative change and best practices applicable to the business in regard of health and safety, cascading to all staff and managers as appropriate ensuring legal compliance throughout the business.
·Gather, record and analyse health and safety data producing information or reports as reasonably requested by managers in order to drive improvement.
·Plan and Prioritise work to meet operational deadlines to facilitate service delivery
 
What you need to know:
 
·Holder of NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
·Experience of working in a construction or highway maintenance environment.
·Full driving license.
·Strong ICT skills with experience of using applications including Microsoft Word and Excel, email and the internet.
·Experience of health and safety management principles and processes and application of ISO 18001 or ISO 45001.
·Ability to apply theoretical and practical health and safety knowledge to a diverse range of situations, contributing to further develop health and safety management systems and working practices.
·Ability to analyse data, produce management reports and communicate results and findings to a range of audience types from lay person to professional/technical.
·Experience of conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations and generating reports.
·Proven ability to plan and prioritise workload and adjust accordingly to reactive situations and events.
