Are you a Health & Safety Manager with experience working for a tier one contractor in the transportation industry?

Do you have a proven track record maintaining health, safety and wellbeing activities on a major infrastructure project?

Location: West Ruislip
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £500 - £600/day umbrella, inside Ir35

Our client is a main contractor delivering heavy civils works on HS2. Due to an increase in work, they require a Health & Safety Manager to join their team and support the health, safety and wellbeing functions at the West Ruislip site.

This includes working closely with the H&S Lead in putting practices in place, improving safety processes and making sure standards are adhered to daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of the Health, Safety & Wellbeing strategy across the area.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Provide practical H&S guidance to operational teams and, when needed, external stakeholders.
  • Advise contract management on stakeholder priorities, risks and expectations.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing Health & Safety Management Plans.
  • Provide advice to prevent accidents, incidents and ill health.
  • Conduct or support H&S site surveillance and participate in audit activities.
  • Advise on subcontractor assessments and appointments.
  • Assist with risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Monitor, analyse and report on H&S performance data to identify improvements.
  • Assist with investigating accidents, incidents and near misses.
  • Contribute to H&S training, briefings and awareness activities.


Requirements:

  • 5 + years experience as a Health & Safety manager on major civil engineering projects.
  • Safety, Health and Environmental Diploma, Degree or equivalent NCRQ or NVQ
  • Valid NEBOSH Construction certification and CSCS card
