Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
£23,000
 
My client is looking for a Graduate Geotechnical engineer to be based in their office in Leicestershire.
 
(The successful candidate must have full right to work and be based locally)
 
Reports to:
Senior/Principal Engineers
 
Responsible for:
·To produce relevant geotechnical design calculations, drawings, and relevant documents for the use of Geosynthetics materials
·Discussing projects/solutions and designs with customers (consultant engineers, civil engineering, and contractors) to provide technical solutions
 
What you will need-
·BEng or MEng Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or similar discipline
·Preferable but not required - 1 or 2 years of relevant experience in a Geotechnical role
·Interest or knowledge of soil mechanics
·To read technical drawings to ascertain customer requirements
·Experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not essential
 
The role is likely to include-
·earthwork foundation and drainage designs
remediation of slopes, retaining structures (including gabion walls, gravity walls, embedded piles, kingpost walls, anchored walls),
·soil nails, foundation designs (shallow footings, piles, mini-piles)
·temporary works designs for plant access (including working on slopes, crane outrigger designs, working platforms) and drainage improvement works.
