About the Role
You'll join a growing consultancy delivering expert advice on flood risk, drainage, and infrastructure planning. You'll support residential, commercial, and renewableenergy projects-from early feasibility through to construction-ensuring they're resilient, environmentally compliant, and deliverable.
What You'll Do
·Assist in Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) assessments, and drainage strategy development for planning applications.
·Help prepare sequential tests, exception tests, and contribute to environmental statements and flood evacuation planning.
·Work on land drainage tasks-such as hydraulic modelling, survey data collection, and support for pumping station and watercourse design.
·Support the planning and design of SuDS components like swales, attenuation ponds, permeable paving, and infiltration strategies, while helping enhance biodiversity and flood mitigation.
·Contribute to renewable energy and infrastructure projects, including preplanning site appraisals, drainage design, CSWMPs, and liaising with the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and IDBs.
·Participate in case studies-from infiltration testing and permeable paving to combining transport, drainage, and floodrisk planning.
·Help deliver resilient infrastructure schemes that also enhance ecosystems.
·Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop practical, resilient engineering solutions for planning consent.
About You
·A recent graduate with a degree in either Civil Engineering, Geography or Environmental Engineering.
·A strong interest in flood risk management, drainage, and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
·Motivated and proactive: you'll bring initiative, integrity, and innovative thinking to your work.
·Excellent communication and teamwork skills-to work collaboratively with colleagues and explain technical concepts clearly.
·Familiarity with FRA, SuDS, and hydraulic modelling principles is ideal, though full training and mentoring will be provided.
What You'll Gain
·Hands-on experience with diverse, real-world projects-including sustainable drainage, flood-risk assessments, renewable energy site appraisals, and infrastructure design.
·Access to structured mentorship and training in technical tools and strategic planning, helping fast-track your professional growth.
·Be part of a supportive, values-driven team that emphasises sustainability, integrity, and innovation.
·Contribute to the company's environmentally conscious mission-helping deliver netzero ambitions and longterm resilience in the built environment.
