Job description

The Geotechnical Site Supervisor will be required to provide on-site support to the grouting works being undertaken on a site near Maidstone. This position will be based on site full time and falls inside IR35. This role will require the Geotechnical Site Supervisor to:
 
·Ensure that all grouting works are undertaken by the Grouting Contractor in accordance with the requirements and restrictions of the grouting specification
·Provide onsite technical direction (issuing site amendments where required and subject to necessary approvals) to the Grouting Contractor, to ensure the aims of the grouting works are achieved
·Review and analyse ground investigation information gathered as part of the grouting works (dynamic probing and rotary drilling) to understand the extent of sinkhole/solution feature. Report all findings and recommendations to the Principal Contractor, the Designer, and the Validating Engineer
·Review and analyse the grouting records (including but not limited to: grout pressure, grout flow rate and volume of grouts per location and depth). Report all findings and recommendations to the Principal Contractor, the Designer, and the Validating Engineer
·Monitor the progression of the grouting works. Report the progress of the works to the Principal Contractor and the Designer and the Validating Engineer
·Ensure that all conformance testing, as detailed within the grouting specification, is undertaken in a timely manner to in accordance with the project quality requirements
·Monitor all site instrumentation to ensure that all buried service and structural movements are within tolerances (as per the grouting specification), throughout the duration of the grouting works
·Review and analyse all grouting data to inform the scope of the site validation works (test types and locations). Report all findings and recommendations to the Principal Contractor, the Designer, and the Validating Engineer
·Ensure that all grouting validation activities (as per the grouting specification) are undertaken and that the minimum improvement requirements are met
·Provide a single point of contact on behalf of the Principal Contractor's site team for the grouting works, coordinating with the Designer, Validating Engineer and Grouting Contractor
·Ensure that all grouting works are undertaken in accordance with recognised best practice approaches


The Geotechnical Site Supervisor must fulfil the following competency requirements:
 
·Competent in the management and supervision of GI work
·Competent the management and supervision of grouting works
·Have relevant qualifications (geotechnical or geological degree preferred)
·Have relevant experience (minimum 5 years' experience in relevant geotechnical field preferred)


The Geotechnical Site Supervisor must fulfil the following requirements, and any other reasonable requirements as communicated by the Principal Contractor to ensure the safe operation of the site and grouting works.
