The Role
Due to organic growth of company my client is looking to strengthen the skill base of the existing Infrastructure Planning team, to facilitate increased workload and future growth.
 
ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE GREATER THAN 2 YEARS MAY APPLY and could be based out Bedford or Birmingham, though only more senior candidates will be considered for Birmingham.
 
Job Description
·Working on various residential and non-residential projects around the UK, from small private developers to national house builders and masterplanning schemes.
·Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments to support Planning Applications
·Preparation of Surface Water Drainage Strategies to support Planning Applications
·Preparation of Foul Water Drainage Strategies to support Planning Applications
·Liaising and communicating with the wider engineering team.
·Liaison with clients and third party consultants/council officers attending meetings where required. Using Microdrainage/Flow software to model drainage networks.
·Input into draft site masterplans to ensure layouts accommodate drainage and Flood Risk requirements.
·Assisting with management of a team.
·Assisting with the development of more junior members of the team.
·Desirable to also be experienced in the preparation of Transport Statements/Assessments, Travel Plans and Utility Assessments.
 
Knowledge & Skills:
·Relevant degree level education desirable.
·Exceptional presentation skills.
·Strong knowledge of UK Drainage/Flood Risk Regulation/Best Practice.
·Proficient with Microdrainage/Flow, Microstation/AudoCad, Microsoft Office (Word in particular).
·High standard of written and spoken English.
 
Experience Profile:
·Proven experience with the preparation of drainage and flood risk strategies to support planning applications.
·Experience of preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategy documents. Evidence of excellent communication skills, confident with client/third party interaction.
·Experience of management of drainage and flood risk elements of a project.
·Experience of team management.
