Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Geologist to join their team in Warwickshire.
 
Technical work
·Have a good understanding of the role and provide technical input to the Geotechnical Department appropriate to the level of experience.
·Undertake geotechnical stability assessments of natural and engineered slopes for quarries, landfill sites and other engineering works.
·Undertake geotechnical engineering design work for earthworks and engineered slopes for quarries, landfill sites and other engineering works.
·Undertake geological investigations for waste management sites, contaminated land, mineral extraction and other development projects.  
·Plan and supervise civil engineering earthworks including the installation of natural and synthetic liners and capping systems for landfills and contaminated sites.
·Undertake field supervision of drilling operatives, borehole installation and geological logging of boreholes.
·Monitor the impact on the environment of contaminated sites including current and former industrial sites and landfills.
·Surveying of mineral and landfill sites together with general topographic surveys using GPS and Total Stations.
·Processing of survey data and carrying out volumetric calculations using LSS or other processing software.
·Review of external documents, databases and reports to collate and present information for project assessment.
·Prepare databases of field and laboratory information, record and manage of data in various formats, carry out the analysis and presentation of data and the checking of data/information in accordance with the Company quality management systems and/or manage and check the information prepared by colleagues.
·Apply risk assessment models to the design and the potential stability risks associated with earthwork structures and quarrying activities and provide technical support and check the technical work of colleagues.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE  
·BSc, BEng, MSc, MSci or MEng in a Geology, Earth Sciences or Civil Engineering related discipline.
·Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and working toward Chartership.
·Capable of completing a range of practical site works.
·Have a high standard of written work.
·Computer literate.
·Experience of working with Quality Management Systems.
·Experience of project management and financial control including preparing and working to budgets.
·Have good communication and team working skills.
·Have good project administrative and organisational skills.
·UK Driving Licence
