Role: Electrical Commissioning Engineer
Location: central/East London
Rate: up to £420 per day - Outside IR35
Contract Length: 12months+
Sector: Water/Wastewater
 
Are you an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer in the water sector? Do you have experience in waste water schemes for large capital delivery projects?
 
My client, a tier 1 contractor in the water sector is a partner on behalf of Thames Water and has a 5 year framework across the patch, including 2 major sites in London. One central, one east.
 
They are looking to bolster their commissioning team to work across all schemes for a long term contract role that is outside IR35. The successful Electrical Commissioning Engineer will have experience in either clean or wastewater commissioning on large sewage treatment works, pumping stations and/or reservoirs.
 
Candidates will need to have experience in the UK water sector, and preferably on patch although we will consider people who will relocate for the right person.
 
Responsibilities:
- Commissioning on various Thames Water regional projects
- Demonstrate leadership skills to positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the company
- Develop relationships with the client to ensure a smooth delivery and handover
- Responsible for providing the Commissioning Manager with progress updates and raise concerns where necessary
- Be responsible for the health and safety of the commissioning phase of the project
- Ensure the commissioning is to the appropriate levels of quality and to standards and manufacturers best practice
- Produce and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all commissioning-based activities
- Assist the production of commissioning plans, inspection test plans and training manuals
- Co-ordinate with the systems integration team to carry out all Site Acceptance Tests and Telemetry commissioning
- The commissioning, interfacing and setting to work of equipment
- Reviewing P&ID diagrams and provide strategies to commission plant and equipment into existing processes in line with client specifications without compromising process and reducing risk
- Attendance at commissioning meetings with representatives from our clients engineering and operational teams
- Assist the design team by undertaking site visits to gather information for the purposes of tendering or design prior to construction
- Undertaking Factory Acceptance Testing for major items of plant
- Liaising with our suppliers and subcontractors throughout the on-site commissioning process
- Undertake or supervise the NICEIC electrical installation testing to C& G 2391 as requested
- Demonstration of commissioned plant to our clients' representatives to gain plant sign off prior to takeover
- To assist the design team and prepare electrical designs ensuring compliance with the current IEE
- Undertaking client training covering both operational and technical competencies
- Completion of commissioning records and diaries ensuring that all progress and equipment settings are recorded for the O&M manuals
regulations and all other relevant specifications
- Develop relationships with the client to ensure a smooth delivery and handover
 
 
Projects are primarily, initially on 1x large clean water site in East London and 1x Large Wastewater site in Central London and you will be likely assigned one or two large schemes to assist with after or during as well.
