Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in London in the search for an Economic Development Officer to join their team on an initial 3 month contract, then rolling.
 
We have an exciting opportunity for a an energetic, highly motivated individual who will lead on and deliver a range of business and enterprise programmes to empower businesses in the borough to start, sustain and grow. From driving business engagement initiatives to hosting business networks/events, and commissioning and managing external suppliers, we are looking for a confident communicator with excellent project management skills.
 
Provide support to the Business Services Manager and the wider Economic Development Team in the development and successful delivery of new approaches to business engagement and enterprise programmes and projects that ensure the achievement of the boroughs Industrial Strategy and inclusive economy ambitions.
 
This post is offered on hybrid basis.
 
To apply for this role, a background in bidding for funding, managing projects, controlling budgets or marketing. Experience from working in a related area, like town planning, community development, regeneration, business advice or construction management.
 
It would be beneficial to hold a bachelor degree in social science, public policy or community development. Postgraduate education, a masters degree in a relevant field. Or experience in managing teams and raising resources will be useful for this role.
 
The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running as soon as possible and are offering flexible working arrangements.
 
Carrington West Pay Rate - £30per/hour (Depending on experience)
