Job description

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the South of England in the search for an Economic Development Officer to join the Planning Strategy and Regeneration Department on an initial 6 month contract.

Primarily we would be looking for someone who understands the overall nature of business and communities. The ideal candidate will need excellent verbal and written communication skills as they would be required to represent the Council in the promotion of economic initiatives. They would need experience in preparing funding bids and excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
 
The successful candidate will be the main point of contact in relation to commercial investment enquiries and should be innovative in their thinking particularly in the area of maintaining and saving the high street and retail opportunities. The person would also be key in developing our Economic Development Strategy.
 
The ideal candidate would have previous experience in a similar role
 
The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and are offering flexible working hours from the point of appointment
