Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in East Anglia in their search for a Senior Planning Officer. This will be offered on a rolling 3-month contract - Fully remote basis.

This post is to assist with an increase in all applications, and subsequent appeals. Principally, you will be dealing with the councils backlog due to a high volume of planning applications of all development types. You will therefore be expected to deal with a range of complex minor applications and some major developments. Due to the rural nature of the authority, there is a range of commercial and leisure applications in addition to housing schemes.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with a range of planning applications. The right candidate should have experience in a similar position and be motivated, technically knowledgeable, and have a strong customer service ethos.
 
You will be required to have some knowledge and experience of working within a council planning team as you will be expected to hit the ground running. It would be beneficial to hold a RTPI accredited Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and/or have experience in a similar position.
 

Carrington West Pay Rate - £35 to £40p/h (DOE)
