Design Engineer - Civil Engineering (Piling)
Office-based in Lancashire with UK-wide site travel

Are you a qualified Civil Engineer looking to grow your career in structural design and project delivery within the specialist field of sheet piling? We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer to join a successful subcontractor working across the UK.
About the Role
This is a hybrid position that will combine hands-on experience with technical design work. You will be involved in day-to-day project management of piling projects across the UK while supporting the design and estimating team in the office.
Key Responsibilities
·Participate in the planning and delivery of piling projects, including occasional early starts and travel to UK-wide sites.
·Prepare technical drawings, structural calculations, and cost estimates.
·Produce designs for embedded retaining walls using Wallap, CADS, or similar software.
·Draft construction drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent.
·Support the design and estimating team with project feasibility assessments and value-engineering.
·Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and contribute to safe and efficient project planning.
Candidate Requirements
·Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (or closely aligned discipline).
·Practical experience or strong interest in civil engineering and construction, particularly in sheet piling or geotechnical works.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design tools such as AutoCAD, Wallap, or similar.
·Experience in steel structural design for framing or propping is advantageous.
·Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
