Job Role - Construction Engineer

Location - Basingstoke (Travel Required)

Contract Length - 6 Months

Pay Rate - £550 a day Umbrella

The ideal candidate will come from a highly regulated site such as nuclear, power or defense and carry a keen understanding/education in civil or structural engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

• Defence background highly desirable
• Previous experience looking at design management matters
• Knowledge of building regulations
• Developing requirements and solutions with key customer teams.
• Reviewing technical submissions from suppliers.
• Monitoring delivery of construction and infrastructure work by suppliers ensuring Building Performance Standards (BPS) are delivered.
• Supporting the capital project leads to resolution of issues relating to the Building Performance Standards, application of Whole Life Cost, Net Zero and Innovation.
• Supporting pricing and procurement of large contracts to ensure the development of the strategic objectives.
• Contract Compliance and Assurance
• Substantial relevant & recent experience in a Construction, Civil / Structural or Building Surveying related discipline.

Qualifications/Experiences:

• Chartered Engineer - Civil or Structural (Desired)
• A degree (BSc / BEng) in a Construction, Construction Management, Civil / Structural Engineering, Chartered Surveyor or Built environment related engineering subject relevant to the maintenance of the MOD estate.
• Undertake compliance reviews of the BPS's works, including deviations and innovations, report findings and make recommendations for statutory and mandatory compliance as well as operational capability
• Appropriate membership of a relevant professional body, e.g.:
• MCIOB, IWFM, MICE, MIStructE, MRICS, MAPM (Desired)
