Commercial & Procurement Manager
£450 p/d Umbrella Rate (Inside IR35)
3 Months Initially (with view for extension)

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Investment and Resident Safety on the delivery of the Council's high-profile building safety, decency and compliance programmes investing in existing homes over the next 12-month period, to a value of circa £50-£60m million.
What will you do?
These projects will have a significant impact on improving homes across the borough and delivering safe, secure, decent and sustainable homes to hundreds of residents.
The successful candidate will be required to independently manage their workload and support and motivate colleagues to deliver high quality outcomes. In this role you will be required to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and external organisations.
This role involves an in-depth knowledge of contract management and delivering works within the budgetary constraints ensuring value for money and ensuring the Council's resources are maximised and residents benefit from improved services and social value investment alike. The appointed candidate will also be expected to manage negotiations and contractual disputes on behalf of the council, reporting outcomes and impacts on governance, budgetary and contractual positions to the Head of Contract Delivery.
What do you need?
To be successful in your application for this role you will need to demonstrate the following on application and through the interview process:
·UK Resident
·Experience working in housing for a local authority or other social housing provider is essential.
·Must be an experienced procurement and commercial manager with an extensive knowledge of services and construction contracts
·Have extensive experience in negotiating and drafting construction works and services contracts.
·Experience of delivering procurements within public sector procurement governance structures is integral to this role, as well as experience in working with a specialist team to develop specifications and other contract documents.
·Be able to review contract models and be able to advise project teams of the options available to them.
