Job description
Are you a Senior Civil Engineer with experience working on civil rail infrastructure projects?
My client is a growing consultancy who have secured various project wins on several large rail build projects and due to increased work is looking to grow their team.
The office is based just outside of Hull and this role will be split 50/50 between working from home and working in the office. The role will be 40 hours a week but my client offers flexi time so its up to you how you work those 40 hours. There is also weekends and overtime available.
Ideally my client is looking for a permanent member of staff but they are prepared to take on a contractor whilst they recruit a permanent candidate.
My client is ideally looking for someone who is a signed off CRE but would also consider a chartered engineer albeit not essential. There is 2 positions altogether one for a principal/ lead engineer and one for a senior engineer.
Rate: up to £55,000 dependant on experience
Job Role:
·Leading and assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to projects for the successful delivery of a wide array projects including engineering feasibility and outline design of rail projects (GRIP 1-4)
·Undertake CRE responsibilities on Rail projects
·Mange delivery teams and check and approval of technical work by the design team
·Input to and preparation of bids and proposals
·Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team.
·Working on some of the following disciplines: Station design, Lineside civils works, Gantry and foundation designs, Rock cutting stabilisations works, Designers risk assessments, Bridge design, refurbishment and strengthening schemes, Completing design forms (F001-003), Cat 3 checking of third-party designs, UTX/URX design
Requirements:
·Engineering degree in a relevant subject.
·Ideally Design CRE or chartered engineer
·Typically a minimum of 5 years experience in the rail sector
·Experience of working in the UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes.
