Job Title: Carbon Analyst
Location: East Midlands, UK
Type: Permanent
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 plus package
Are you passionate about reducing carbon emissions and creating meaningful environmental impact? My client are a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor at the forefront of sustainability in construction, and are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Carbon Analyst to join the Sustainability Team. Reporting to the Senior Sustainability Manager, this role will be instrumental in measuring, monitoring, and reducing the organisation's operational carbon footprint across a range of projects and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
·Measure, analyse and report on operational carbon emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3)
·Lead data collection and reporting for SECR and ESOS compliance
·Maintain up-to-date emission factors in line with DEFRA/BEIS guidance
·Coordinate internal and external reporting processes and requirements
·Liaise with suppliers and the wider supply chain to gather accurate GHG emissions data
·Ensure adherence to GHG Protocol, ISO 14064-1, and other relevant frameworks
·Maintain high standards of data quality and evidence documentation
·Generate innovative ideas to drive carbon reduction across operations and project sites
·Collaborate with departments to improve data collection and reporting systems
·Stay informed on latest sustainability practices, technologies, and regulatory updates
Requirements:
·Passionate about sustainability and carbon reduction
·Strong knowledge of carbon reporting frameworks and the GHG Protocol
·Background in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field
·Previous experience within construction or a similar industry is highly desirable, but not essential
·Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail
·Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other standard software packages
·Strong communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships
·Self-motivated, organised, and eager to develop within a collaborative team
·Analytical thinker with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes

·£35,000-£40,000 per annum depending on experience
