Building Performance Engineer
Manchester | Medium-Sized Consultancy
Are you a Building Physics or Performance Engineer looking to join a consultancy where technical quality, learning and long-term development are genuinely prioritised?
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established Manchester based consultancy with a strong and varied project portfolio across commercial, residential, healthcare and education sectors.
You'll be joining a close-knit team of five specialists with over 30 years' combined experience, offering the chance to learn from senior professionals while developing your own technical expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Role
As a Building Performance Engineer, you'll support projects from early design through to delivery, providing performance-led insight that shapes better buildings.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Producing Part L and Part O assessments for new build and refurbishment projects
·Delivering dynamic thermal modelling, including TM54 energy modelling and TM59 overheating assessments
·Using IES VE to analyse energy use, thermal comfort and building performance
·Advising design teams on performance-driven solutions to improve efficiency and occupant comfort
·Preparing clear, high-quality technical reports for clients and project teams
·Working collaboratively with MEP engineers, architects and external stakeholders
What You'll Bring
·Experience in building physics or building performance consultancy
·Strong knowledge of Part L, Part O, TM54 and TM59
·Confident user of IES VE or similar dynamic modelling tools
·Experience working on UK-based projects across multiple sectors
·Strong technical report writing and communication skills
·A proactive approach and genuine interest in developing technically
