Job description
As a BIM Technician, you will be part of a strong dedicated team of Engineers and Modellers working on a variety of interesting and challenging Infrastructure projects. These will range from civils/highways, HS2 and aviation transport schemes. Previous experience and knowledge of applicable software will be an important foundation. However, your ability and willingness to explore the use of various applicable software, or digitalisation of processes, will define your success.
The position will be hybrid working between home and the office, including potentially working from co-located client/project offices and occasional travel will be necessary. This is a long term contract position which will fall outside IR35 (subject to an assessment).
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
·Producing 3D computer models and engineering drawings
·Producing technical supporting data such as specifications and reports
·Producing exciting visualisations and animations
·Proactively managing document control using for example ProjectWise
·Develop digital tools and approaches to leverage these opportunities
·Liaise with the design team to ensure timely production of deliverables
·There are further opportunities to co-ordinate with BIM forums to develop our BIM/CAD standards and ways of working
·The successful candidate will be expected to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision, whilst also managing and supporting the supervision of junior team members
Key experience:
·Typically have a BTech or HNC or Level 3 qualification
·Professional experience in the preparation and management of engineering drawings
·Professional experience in operating the latest versions of modelling software such as AutoCAD and Civils 3D. A working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks will be a benefit
·An understanding of Digital Automation and BIM
