Based in Leeds, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning professional to join at Associate Director level, supporting both project delivery and client and team management.

The Transport & Mobility Planning team delivers meaningful and lasting contributions to society through the way people connect, move and interact. Working across residential, retail, logistics and major infrastructure schemes, the team combines creativity with technical rigour in planning, modelling and design to secure positive, sustainable outcomes. From garden towns and rail freight interchanges to sports stadia and public sector developments, projects are varied and complex.

By embracing innovation and promoting decarbonisation, the team remains at the forefront of sustainable mobility. Specialists in social research, climate strategy and transport planning collaborate to deliver science-based and net zero carbon reduction strategies, providing clients with best-practice and forward-thinking advice.
As an Associate Director, you will lead and deliver a broad range of transport planning projects across the UK. You will manage complex schemes from site identification and acquisition through to planning submission, condition discharge and monitoring. You will prepare and oversee Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Delivery & Servicing Management Plans.

You will manage client relationships, secure new work, negotiate fee proposals and oversee project finances. You will guide and develop colleagues, provide technical direction, ensure quality standards and apply your judgement to develop practical, commercially aware solutions. You will confidently present technical information to clients, stakeholders and decision-makers, while strengthening your own project management and work-winning capabilities.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Transport Planner with strong knowledge of planning and transport policy. You will ideally hold a relevant degree and have significant experience preparing Transport Statements and Assessments. You will be proficient in PICADY, ARCADY (Junctions 11) and LINSIG, with an understanding of micro-simulation and strategic modelling. Knowledge of DMRB and Manual for Streets, access and parking strategies, S106 and S278 agreements, Traffic Regulation Orders, and fee proposal preparation is essential. Strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Salary is £70,000-£80,000 dependent on experience. A competitive benefits package is provided, including pension, healthcare, life assurance, critical illness cover, structured career progression, 25 days' annual leave and agile working arrangements to support work-life balance.
