Job description

Role: Assistant Drainage and Water Engineer
Salary:  £9.50 per hour
Location: Sheffield
Standard working week: 37.5 hours

Our client a large and highly respected utilities contractor is looking for Water Survey Assistants to work on their waste water contracts.

The nature of the role will be working in crews of 2 or 3 surveying the waste water network through CCTV surveys. Anyone with experience on waste water treatment works, sewers, CCTV, water jetting would be a good fit, but no experience is necessary for this position.  Typical project delivery is focused around installing flow monitors in on the waste water networks ( sewers) .

Successful candidates will be expected to work away on occasion, the role will mainly involve local work ,but could involve working in places like the London, Norfolk and Manchester. Accommodation and food will be provided if you are away. Please ensure you are fully happy with this before you apply as you will likely stay away 2-3 days a week.
All hotels and meal allowances are paid for up front so in theory you should not need to spend anything while you're away.

Full Drivers' licenses are essential for this position. Please do not apply if you do not have one.

The pay rate will be £9 per hour (PAYE) per hour for the first 37.5 hours and this will increase to £9.50 once you have completed your training. There are plenty of opportunities for optional overtime. This offers a chance to earn £17,550 as a base salary and more with overtime.
Initially you will be employed on a 6 month agency contract, however this is very much long term work and so permanent jobs will be offered for good performers with a view for progression to crew leader further down the line.
Please get in touch with Dave at Carrington West on 02393 876 003 to discuss the role further.
