Job description

Are you an experienced Surveyor with knowledge in disabled adaptations looking for your next contract?
 
If so, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Adaptation Surveyor to joint a Local Authority in Huddersfield.
 
What will you do?   
You will provide technical advice on all issues relating to the provision of adaptations and of building design, for designing adaptations schemes and writing specifications to meet client's needs, procuring such works and managing the provision of adaptations using recognised contract administration and project management techniques ensuring value for money and best use of scarce resources at all times.
 
Responsibilities
·Following from the recommendation of occupational therapy assessment, meet the tenant to establish what works need to be completed to meet their needs.
·You will schedule the work and go out to tender to contractors.
·You will monitor the contracts in place for the provision of adaptations and equipment, for example stair lifts and other Building Contracts.
·Along with the Team Leader Surveyor will consider and procure new contracts where necessary, including the development of existing contracts.
· You will ensure all adaptations are completed in accordance with all relevant legislation and in an efficient and timely manner.
· You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the unit's advisory list of contractors and agents in accordance with the Good Practice Guide.
· You will assist the Team Leader Surveyor in monitoring and managing adaptation budgets, including authorising grant payments and Disabled Facilities Grant approvals.
 
What are the benefits?
·3-6 month contract.
·£20 - £35 per hour, umbrella, inside IR35, depending on experience.
·37 hours per week.
·Work from home or office.
·Flexible start/finish times.
 
What will you need?
·Experience in; building surveying, property inspections, providing specifications, basic scale drawings, and knowledge/experience in the provision of advice and assessment of the housing needs of disabled people.
·Experience of working with social housing.
