Vacancy:  Water Sampler / Driver - Home / Field based
Pay rate:  £11 per hour = £22,800 per year + overtime
Working week: 40 hours standard and potential for some overtime paid at X1.25 or X1.5
Duration: 6 month and option to transfer to permanent position on completion
Location:  Bedford

My client are responsible for delivering Thames Water projects and require additional staff to help deliver water sampling projects with in the Thames Water region.
 
In this role you will be given full training and once you are up to speed and comfortable with the process.  The training will include both office based and on the job / shadowing work with an experienced colleague.
 
A typical working day ( once you are trained ) will start from home where you will have a company van.   Once you get in van which is fully expenses eg you have access to a fuel card you will be clocked in as working so a big advantage of this role is that you will have no travel costs or travel time.
 
You will then be assigned a number of Thames Water, water treatment plants to visit every day and travel between locations then back home on a daily basis.  When you are on site you will be responsible for collecting water samples from with in the water treatment and discharge points into the nearest water course way / river.
 
Once a sample has been collected it will need to be decanted into  another vessel  which will have a bar code and need to be scanned into the system which will record when and when the sample was taken.
 
Once you have collected your final sample you will drive home where your day will finish.  Typically once or twice a week you will need to drop all of the samples off at a laboratory.
 
This role would suit a fresh graduate or any candidate that has an interest into site sample collection.  However anyone who can worked unsupervised in a hands on / driving capacity would also be suitable for the role.
 
Please note no formal qualifications are required for this position except for a full UK drivers license.  In addition to this you will need be comfortable driving a transit van and have the ability to park this near your home.
 
Typically you will work between 7:30am - 3:30pm for 40 hours per week Monday - Friday and there is potential for overtime available at X1.25 or X1.5  = Annual salary of £22,800 + overtime
